Welcome to Creative At Home

Hello all! I am Abby Chavez and I welcome you to my new journey into the creative world. Thanks for helping me get this far! I wanted to share some about who I am and why I am here.

I am a wife to Albert, mom of 2 (Alex and Elena), and, until now, a closet creative soul. I started Creative at Home in June because I needed to be creative again. I was constantly creating as a child through multiple different media and as I got older, my creative self was pushed down as I climbed the career ladder and started a family. I found myself struggling for motivation and feeling drained. I had to make a change!

I never thought I would be here! I say that because I have spent my life to date working towards a career in the restaurant industry and was quite successful. I built a company over from negative net income to a viable successful business poised for growth. I still LOVE the restaurant business but I was experiencing severe burn-out even before 2020. After COVID, the burnout was so much more that as a family, we decided it was time for a change. I needed to get back to what is most important and truly fills me up!

There had to be more people out there like me! I needed to find time to create because it just made me happy. A big part of it was watching my children grow and be allowed to be curious and creative. Not only was I missing out on their experiences, I had this longing to get back to creating myself! I feel strongly that having a creative outlet is so important to my overall mental health. It challenges thinking and can force people to get out of the normal routine. I kept wondering "Why can't we have that as adults?!" And, how do I continue to foster that in my kids?

Thus, Creative at Home was born! I provide the opportunity to continue to stretch your creative muscles through a mobile art studio and virtual art club. I offer a wide-range of products and services from Paint and Sip events for Adults, kids and all people who love to create to my Artsy Clubs that offer monthly opportunities for kids and families to enjoy time together and get creative!

Whether you are looking to create virtually or in person, I provide all the instruction and supplies you will need to create your projects. The virtual clubs have weekly and monthly options for you to choose from and include supply lists OR kits available to simplify life!

It is my mission at Creative at Home to provide everyone the opportunity to be creative and have fun in their very own space! I focus on several areas:

  • Creating Artwork through Paint and Sip events and Artsy Clubs

  • Doing Artwork with items you have around your house

  • Offering supply and craft kits for you to create on your own time

If you or your family need to have fun and create together or with friends, I can help you get there! I would love to spread my creativity and fun with your family or social network!

Please check out the services I have on my website. You can interact with me through my Etsy site (coming soon!) as well as on social media at @Creativeathomeart on Facebook and Instagram. I post all my public events and there is an option to book directly with me there.

Lastly, don't forget to sign up for emails from me directly by becoming a member! I send weekly art projects and I would hate for you to miss out on any of them...

~Abby
